The name Emmy is derived from the nickname Immy, which is a contraction of the imagery orthicon, a television image tube. On the Emmy Award trophy, a winged woman is holding up an electron, which stands for science. Emmy Award winners are chosen by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. And eventually, the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards finally turned up.
