In 2008, Marvel Studios released their own take on the character with The Incredible Hulk starring Edward Norton as Bruce Banner/the Hulk. Unlike its predecessor, this film focused more on Banner’s attempt at controlling his transformation into the green giant rather than curing it. Together they must face off against Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and an alien army known as Chitauri led by Thanos (Josh Brolin). At one point during the battle, Bruce is unable to control his transformation into the green giant, leading to an epic showdown between him and Loki that ends with a victorious banner emerging from their fight.
