The Most Inspiring Female Disney Characters of All Time

A plethora of wonderful, interesting, and unique characters exist in the animated world of Disney. They teach us insightful moral lessons, fun adventures, and even cautionary tales to be learned by kids and adults alike. Going deeper, there are female Disney characters that take our breath away and leave behind evergreen and timeless lessons. Although others may look at the characters and see a pointless animated story, profound lessons must be learned. Let’s see lessons from each of them and see that there is always something to take away, no matter the story.

Female Disney Characters

Cinderella: Cinderella is a Disney princess that is already a household name. With a very humble backstory and a happy ending, one could learn many things from her. Cinderella grew from an abusive stepmother and stepsisters. Since her origin was initially unknown, she was treated very unkindly by the people around her. She was made as a maid, compelled to clean after the mess of her stepsisters and stepmother. However, her fate turned around when the prince tried to set up a ball to find a match. With the help of her fairy godmother, Cinderella managed to attend the ball with the fairest dress and the most attractive attire. This, and her pleasing personality, captivated the prince. This became a case of jealousy for her stepsisters and stepmother alike. However, Cinderella eventually got to be with the prince, despite being an unknown girl who was made to clean up. The story’s lesson is always to be kind to people, no matter who they are. If Cinderella had been treated fairly by her stepfamily, they could have gone with her to the prince. It also brings the lesson of finding treasure and diamonds in the rough. Despite finding out that Cinderella was a simple helper, the prince was not dissuaded by this. Despite the social expectations of marrying somebody of royal status, the prince sought Cinderella’s hand because of her personality.

Ariel: In the classic mermaid story, Ariel is also a female Disney character from which I have learned much. A member of the royal mermaid family, Ariel’s life was already comfortable and privileged. However, she was never satisfied and sought to explore outside the oceanic kingdom. This brought her pain, misery, and a lot of lessons to be learned from being too exuberant. However, there is beauty within her struggle. Ariel’s determination led to her being in her prince charming’s arms. Despite Ursula’s backhanded gifts and her father’s insistence to stay in the deep, Ariel got what she wanted. The lesson to learn in her story is to be continuously determined and keep fighting for what you aspire to in life.

Belle – The Beauty and the Beast is one of the most classic tales that had existed long before Disney made it into a movie. However, Disney gave it life through its timeless animation, which has touched many’s hearts through the movie. Belle is the story’s protagonist, essentially the epitome of looking beneath the skin. First impressions may last, but the true beauty of things (and people) are found when you work hard and learn about them through experience. Despite the Beast being portrayed as a hideous, terrifying, and aggressive animal, Belle saw through all these. It turns out such a beast is only a prince cursed. Her efforts of learning and bonding with somebody despite their appearance have been rewarded, and she lived happily ever after. This lesson of being non-judgemental and trying to see the beauty in everything will bring you far in life, especially nowadays when it seems like everything is going awry.
