Data shows why Jupiter’s Legacy canceled, Shadow and Bone renewed

This week, the team at streaming search engine Reelgood analyzed viewing data for Jupiter’s Legacy from millions of users in the United States to shed light on why Netflix might have canceled the promising superhero saga just one month after its premiere.

Though Jupiter’s Legacy seemed quite popular with audiences, it pales in comparison to other recent Netflix originals like The Queen’s Gambit, Bridgertonand Shadow and Bone. In fact, its observed viewing trend on Reelgood was more similar to that of another recently canceled Netflix series — The Irregulars.

Looking at Netflix’s own daily Top 10 data for TV shows in the United States, the team saw that Jupiter’s Legacy enjoyed a much better run than The Irregulars but fell behind Shadow and Bone, another newcomer which had just been officially renewed for a second season during Netflix’s first Geeked Week event.
