If you’ve been watching HBO’s thrilling drama Westworld and were completely rocked by that trailer for the finale, you might be too excited for the conclusion of season 2 to even wonder about what’s in store for season 3. While we understand this feeling all too well, we also have very little self-control and are shamelessly digging for clues wherever we can find them!
So without further ado, here’s everything we know so far about Westworld season 3:
Put Your Worries to the Side
If you’re worried that Westworld might be struck by the grim reaper of television (the dreaded cancellation), fear not. the show has already been picked up for a third season.
Your Two Favorite Girls Will Be Back (And Getting Theirs!)
Two players that we know for sure will be back for another round are Evan Rachel Wood and Thandie Newton. Not only have the two stars already signed contracts for season 3, but they made sure they’d be paid the same amount as their male co-stars. Considering these two ladies have pretty much been carrying the show, my question is: why the heck weren’t they already?
Now, as for which male co-stars will be returning with the gals, that part remains a bit of a mystery as none of the remaining cast has confirmed (or denied) signing contracts for season 3.
You May Want to Pick Up a Hobby Or Two
While it may seem like a distant memory (or maybe just a bad dream?), you may vaguely recall the wait for season 2 being excruciatingly long. Well, get ready to hone your waiting skills again Westworld fans, because the wait for season 3 might just be an equally agonizing 18-months.
This juicy tidbit came from Westworld creator Jonathan Nolan back in April when he told Entertainment Weekly that a show as intricate and complex as this takes a long time to get right, and they’re really not interested in rushing it.
This World is Just Gonna Keep Getting Bigger Y’all
Delos runs three different parks (that we know of) and we’ve already seen all three. So exploring different parks is definitely an option that’s on the table for the coming season. And if you’re one of those people who always wanted a sequel to The Truman Show, you’re going to find this part very interesting: the scope of Westworld most likely will find its way outside the parks and into the real world.
Whether that will happen in season 3 for sure is still a mystery, but if Jonathan Nolan’s juicy EW interview is to be believed, then he is very serious about letting the hosts play out in the real world.
