The big news this past week was Meghan and Harry’s interview with Oprah on CBS. Among other things, the general public saw it as free publicity for Netflix’s hit series The Crown.
Reelgood looked at the data to see just how big of an effect the interview actually had on recent viewership for the show and found that, at one point, it doubled the typical volume of daily streams for the series.
Spikes in viewing were also observed after a few other key events like the release of a statement from Buckingham Palace on behalf of the Queen.
Additionally, The Crown made an appearance as the #9 most-watched show on Netflix among 2 million U.S. Reelgood users this week.
