Step Up is a dance movie franchise that started in 2006 and has become a fan favorite ever since. The movies follow the story of young dancers who use their moves to make a difference in their lives and those of the people around them. Each movie features a different storyline, characters, and setting, but one thing remains the same dancing is an integral part of each movie! Here are 10 Step Up movies that you have to watch.

Step Up (2006)
This is the first installment of the Step Up series, and it follows Tyler Gage, who is sentenced to community service at the Maryland School of Arts after vandalizing a Baltimore school. After he meets Nora Clark, an extremely talented ballerina, he discovers his passion for dancing. With Nora’s help, Tyler enters a competition with his crew where they can win $50,000. The film stars Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan, who later married after meeting on set. This classic will have you rooting for Tyler and Nora as they take on their challenges together!

Step Up 2: The Streets (2008)
In this sequel to Step Up, Andie West takes center stage as she moves from her small town in Maryland to live with her father in Baltimore. Andie joins an underground dance crew that challenges rival crews in elaborate street battles. She soon catches the attention of Chase Collins (Robert Hoffman), a rich kid who also happens to be Nora’s brother from Step Up 1! Together they must work to save their crew from being evicted from their practice spot while preparing for an upcoming dance competition with high stakes.

Step Up 3D (2010)
The third installment of Step Up takes us into 3D as we follow Moose (Adam Sevani), a nerdy engineering student who joins an underground dance battle crew known as the Pirates in New York City’s Chinatown district. He soon meets Luke (Rick Malambri), leader of the Pirates, and Natalie (Sharni Vinson), Moose’s love interest and Luke’s friend/dance partner. As Moose learns more about dancing, he also discovers his own personal strength within himself – which leads him to help save the Pirates’ home base from demolition by competing against another rivaling dance crew!

Step Up Revolution (2012)
This fourth installment takes us back to Miami, where Emily Anderson (Kathryn McCormick) moves with her father after being offered a job at a prestigious dance studio run by her mother’s former rival – Veronica Vonn (Mia Michaels). Emily quickly learns that she must compete against other professional dancers while trying to keep up with her own personal struggles at home – all while secretly leading a group of flash mob dancers called “The Mob”. Emily must find the courage within herself if she wants to succeed in both worlds – and ultimately help The Mob make their dreams come true through dance!

Step Up: All In (2014)
This fifth installment brings us back to original cast members from previous Step-Ups as we follow Sean Asa (Ryan Guzman), Andie West’s best friend from Step Up 2: The Streets. Sean moves out west, where he starts up his own dance crew called LMNTRIX – comprised mostly of all-star dancers from past crews featured in previous films. As they prepare for their biggest competition yet – “The Vortex” hosted by celebrity judge Jason Derulo – LMNTRIX struggles financially when their practice space is shut down due to gentrification in Downtown Los Angeles! With nowhere else to go, Sean must rely on his friends and former rivals if he wants LMNTRIX’s dreams to come true!

Step Up: High Water (2018-2020)
This sixth installment takes us back into television series form as it follows twins Tal and Janelle, whose parents were once part of an elite hip-hop crew known as The High Watermarkers before they died when Tal was just 11 years old. Now living with their Uncle Alonzo in Atlanta, Tal enrolls himself into High Water Performing Arts School – led by Sage Odom- where both Tal & Janelle quickly realize that it’ll take more than just talent if they want to become successful dancers like their parents once were! Alongside some familiar faces from other Step Ups such as Ne-Yo & Naya Rivera, who play recurring roles throughout this series – these twins must learn how family, friendship & hard work can lead them on the path towards success!

Step Up: China (2018)
This seventh installment takes us into international territory as we follow LiLi Cooper – played by actress Wang Tao – who travels across China seeking fame & fortune through internet fame & viral videos – eventually leading her way into becoming part of “The 8 Pack” – an elite group comprised out of 8 different types of street performers – each having their own specialties ranging from magic tricks all the way up till acrobatics & parkour! LiLi must learn how dedication alongside creativity can lead her to become one of China’s most influential performers – all while standing up against corporate greed, trying its best to take over artistry & culture for its own selfish needs!

Step Up: Last Dance (2020)
The eighth installment takes us back to Tyler Gage (Channing Tatum) & Nora Clark (Jenna Dewan) from the original Step Up film, as they’re now married and living together in Florida. After facing a personal tragedy, Tyler finds solace in teaching a dance class of misfit high schoolers from his old neighborhood – whom he eventually motivates into competing for the National Championships. As the team moves forward through challenges & emotions, Tyler must learn how to become a real leader if he wants his students to reach their full potential & make their dreams come true!

Step Up: High Water: Season 2 (2020)
The ninth installment brings us back into television series form as it follows Tal & Janelle’s journey as they continue to pursue their dreams at High Water Performing Arts School. Season 2 picks up right where season 1 left off, with the twins being thrown into even more difficult challenges, such as dealing with money issues, relationships, and personal struggles while trying to keep up with their studies and dancing practices! With the help of familiar faces from past Step Ups – alongside some new characters- these twins must find the courage within themselves if they want to make it to the top!

Step Up: Year of The Dance (2021)
This tenth installment is set to be released in 2021 and will feature some of the best dancers from all around the world – ranging from different styles such as hip-hop, Latin, ballet, and even martial arts! The movie will follow a group of dancers who must work together if they want to save their respective art forms while competing against each other in an international dance competition. With stakes higher than ever before – this movie is sure to be an explosive mix between classic Step Up vibes with an international twist!
