Synopsis
Nicholas Rossi: Predator on Trial is a 2026 English-language true crime documentary miniseries produced by Firecrest Films. The two-part documentary follows the case of Nicholas Rossi, an American fugitive who claimed to be a disabled academic named Arthur Knight after authorities identified him in a Scottish hospital.
The story begins in December 2021, when a man recovering from COVID-19 wakes from a coma in a Glasgow hospital to find detectives investigating his identity. Police believe he is Nicholas Rossi, a wanted American fugitive, but he insists that he is Arthur Knight and that the authorities have mistaken him for someone else.
As investigators work to establish his identity, the case develops into an international legal battle involving authorities in Scotland and the United States. The documentary examines Rossi’s alleged deception, his attempts to avoid extradition, and the efforts to bring him before the American justice system.
Through the investigation and legal proceedings, the series explores how Rossi maintained his claimed identity and how the case attracted international attention.
