Meet the Preppers (2026) Synopsis
Meet the Preppers is a 2026 New Zealand documentary series that follows self-confessed catastrophiser Kylie Cushman as she explores how people across Aotearoa prepare for civil, economic and natural disasters. Kylie meets committed preppers with different approaches to emergencies, from people ready to leave home at short notice to those storing food and supplies so they can remain indoors during a crisis.
The documentary also looks at community preparation, including emergency supplies and groups that practise responding to civil defence situations. As Kylie learns about survival equipment, emergency planning and self-sufficiency, she also tests her own ability to cope by spending a night outdoors with survivalist Clay Tall Stories.
