
About the 2025 Ballon d’Or
The 2025 Ballon d’Or is the 69th annual ceremony, organized by France Football in partnership with UEFA and Groupe Amaury. It celebrates the best players, coaches, and clubs from the 2024/25 football season, covering performances from August 2024 to July 2025, with the women’s awards extending to the Copa América Femenina in August.
This edition also introduces three new women’s categories: the Women’s Yashin Trophy (best goalkeeper), the Women’s Gerd Müller Trophy (top scorer), and the Women’s Kopa Trophy (best young player).
When and where will the Ballon d’Or 2025 ceremony take place?
The ceremony is scheduled for Monday, 22 September 2025 at Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, France.
How is the Ballon d’Or 2025 voting done? Who votes?
For the men’s award, 100 journalists from FIFA’s top-ranked nations vote. For the women’s award, 50 journalists vote. Each journalist ranks their top 10 players, with points awarded from 15 (1st place) down to 1 (10th place). The player with the most points wins, with first-place votes used as a tiebreaker.
