Anaesthesia (Netflix Series) Synopsis
Anaesthesia is a 2026 Polish medical drama series directed by Łukasz Ostalski and starring Leszek Lichota, Aleksandra Popławska, and Karolina Gruszka.
The story follows Dawid Łazarz, a skilled neurosurgeon whose successful career begins to fall apart after a risky operation ends with the death of a young patient. Facing professional consequences and struggling with his personal life, Dawid leaves a prestigious medical clinic and takes a position at Suwałki Specialist Hospital.
At his new workplace, Dawid hopes to rebuild his reputation and find a fresh start. However, his unconventional approach to treating patients quickly creates tension with other doctors, particularly Kacper, who questions his decisions and methods.
As Dawid adjusts to the hospital’s demanding environment, he becomes involved in complicated medical cases, workplace disagreements, and personal conflicts. His determination to help patients often puts him at odds with hospital rules, while unresolved problems from his past continue to affect his relationships and career.
The eight-part series follows Dawid’s efforts to regain the trust of his colleagues, repair his family life, and decide what kind of doctor he wants to become.
