A Danish Christmas Synopsis
A Danish Christmas is a 2026 American Christmas romance television film directed by Colin Theys and written by Juliana Wimbles. Starring Emilie Ullerup and Corey Sevier, the Hallmark movie follows a Chicago-based hotel technology executive who returns to Copenhagen for Christmas and finds herself trying to save her family’s inn.
Marie Andersen returns to Denmark to spend the holidays with her family and help manage their Copenhagen inn. When an American guest named Ryan Miller arrives, she mistakenly believes he is a travel journalist who could bring valuable publicity to the struggling business.
Hoping to impress him, Marie organizes a Christmas tour of Copenhagen and introduces him to the Danish tradition of hygge, which focuses on comfort, warmth, and togetherness. Her efforts become even more important when her mother reveals plans to sell the inn after the New Year.
As Marie and Ryan spend time together, their relationship begins to develop beyond that of a host and guest. However, the arrival of the real travel journalist exposes the misunderstanding and forces Marie to reconsider her approach to saving the inn and finding happiness.
