Forever Home (2026 TV Series) Synopsis
Forever Home is a 2026 British mystery thriller series written by Clara Salaman and adapted from Graham Norton’s bestselling novel of the same name. The six-part drama stars Amy Nuttall as Carol Crottie, Douglas Henshall as her older partner Robert Barrie, Denise Welch as Carol’s mother Moira, Samantha Bond as Joan Barrie, Lewis Cope as Kaden Barrie and Jenny Walser as Sally Barrie.
The story follows Carol as Robert’s worsening dementia makes the possibility of leaving their home increasingly difficult. His behaviour leads Carol to question the story of his first wife Joan, who supposedly disappeared with Robert’s brother 20 years earlier and left her two children behind, while Robert’s anxiety surrounding a hidden basement raises further questions about what happened in the house. The television adaptation moves the story from Ireland to North East England.
