The Simpsons‘ creator Matt Groening is the creator behind this medieval animated series. Centered around a princess who decides to do her own thing (but in a way that’s way less Disney than you’re imagining), the series will have Game of Thrones jokes, coming of age fun, and voice work from Broad City‘s Abbi Jacobson. It’s definitely not one to miss.
To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before
Netflix has been killing it in the rom-com game this summer, and their streak appears to be poised to continue. Based on the YA novel of the same name, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before looks like the nostalgic teen rom-com fans of She’s All That and 10 Things I Hate About You will love. The film is centered around a young woman who writes letters to boys she has crushes on. When those letters are mailed without her permission, her new school year gets a whole lot more interesting.
Magic for Humans
This lighthearted series finds magician Justin Willman baffling everyday people with his illusions. Magic for Humans appears to be the perfect show to unwind and laugh with at the end of a long day.

Starring Stranger Things‘ Charlie Heaton, Marrowbone is the type of horror movie that creeps up on you. Four siblings move to a remote manor in the hopes of staying together after the death of their parents, but it’s not long before it becomes clear that something sinister is lurking in their home.
The second season of this underrated horror comedy is even better than the last. Stan is once again tasked with fighting the forces of evil in his small town, but this time the stakes are higher and the gags are funnier.

Insecure nabbed multiple Emmy nominations this year, and for good reason. This awesome comedy about young professional women is smart, funny, and a true auteur project.
Gary Oldman’s transformative work as Winston Churchill is astounding, and with the meaty fall movies on the horizon, Darkest Hour is the perfect film to ease you back into a serious mood after a long summer of blockbusters.
