Our Favorite Jeff Goldblum Movies

Jeff Goldblum in Jurassic Park
Jeff Goldbum in “Jurassic Park” from Universal Pictures.

It’s been a banner month for Jeff Goldblum, not only did he receive his long-overdue star on the Hollywood walk of fame, but the actor just returned to the big screen, reprising his iconic Jurassic Park role as Dr. Ian Malcolm in the series’ latest installment, Jurassic World: The Fallen Kingdom. The end of Fallen Kingdom certainly left the door wide open for Goldblum to return for the next film. And since Ian Malcolm is maybe our favorite Goldblum character to-date, we can hardly wait.

In the meantime, fans, enjoy these 9 Jeff Goldblum films that you can stream to your heart’s content:

Igby Goes Down – Vudu | Tubi TV | Tribeca Short List

One of Goldblum’s most scenery-chewing roles, here he plays the morally questionable godfather to the title character, Igby. This coming-of-age, very Holden-Caulfield-esque film also stars Susan Sarandon, Ryan Phillippe, Claire Danes, Bill Pullman, Kieran Culkin, and Amanda Peet.

Indpendence Day: Resurgence – Rent or buy from $2.99 and up.

Another sequel to another 1990s favorite. Independence Day: Resurgence follows up 1996’s Independence Day, which also starred Goldblum as the stammering and adorable geek, David Levinson. Goldblum reprised this role in the follow-up, and plays an even more prominent role.

Jurassic Park – Rent or buy from $2.99 and up.

Dr. Ian Malcolm is basically the reason you all are here. In Jurassic Park, Goldblum is the cool and rebellious chaos theorist, telling John Hammond exactly what he thinks right from the start. And he also looks pretty sexy in that rock-star leather jacket and shades.

The Fly – Rent or buy from $2.99 and up.

Opposite of Ian Malcolm, Goldblum’s role in The Fly is decidedly unsexy, but no-less star-making. Here, a scientist (Goldblum) mistakenly merges his DNA with a fly’s and the results are predictably gross. If you can stomach it, this is a must-watch.

The Big Chill – Tribeca Short List

This 1983 dramedy has a terrific cast, including Kevin Kline, Jeff Goldblum, Mary Kay Place, JoBeth Williams, and William Hurt. Here, a group of once close-knit friends reunites after the unfortunate suicide of one of their own.

The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou – Rent or buy from $2.99 and up.

If you’re a Wes Anderson fan, then you’ve probably already seen this one multiple times, and you might even own the tennis shoes. Goldblum shines here as the title character’s sworn enemy.

The Lost World: Jurassic Park – Rent or buy from $2.99 and up.

Dr. Ian Malcolm returns to this list with this 1997 follow-up to the original. Ian is roped into returning to the land of the dinosaurs. While not exactly a critical darling, this sequel is every bit as fun as you would expect it to be. The film also stars Julianne Moore and a young Vince Vaughn.

Thor: Ragnarok – Netflix

In Thor: Ragnarok Jeff Goldblum gets to be everything you never knew you always wanted Jeff Goldblum to be.
