JAŸ-Z In 8 is a 2026 American music documentary series directed by Rick Rubin in his documentary directorial debut. The eight-part series follows JAŸ-Z and Rubin in an extended conversation about the rapper’s music, lyrics, life experiences and creative process, 30 years after the release of his debut album Reasonable Doubt.
Across the series, JAŸ-Z revisits different stages of his career and explains the experiences and ideas behind songs including “99 Problems,” “Brooklyn’s Finest,” “4:44,” “The Story of O.J.,” “No Church in the Wild” and “Family Feud.” The documentary also looks at his approach to songwriting and the people, places and events that influenced his work.
