Chucky movies in order

Child’s Play (1988)
The original Child’s Play movie is considered a classic horror movie, and it set the tone for the entire Chucky franchise. The movie follows a serial killer named Charles Lee Ray, who transfers his soul into a “Good Guy” doll before being shot by detective Mike Norris. The doll, known as Chucky, is given to Andy Barclay for his sixth birthday and begins terrorizing the family. Chucky sets out to kill anyone who gets in his way as he attempts to transfer his soul into Andy’s body so that he can be human again.

The movie features some iconic scenes, including one with Chucky attacking Mike Norris with a kitchen knife. It also features the infamous line “Hi, I’m Chucky! Wanna play?” which has become a well-known quote among horror fans. The movie was well-received by critics and fans alike, and it still holds up today as one of the best slasher films ever made.

Child’s Play 2 (1990)
The sequel to the original Child’s Play picks up where the first film left off, with Chucky still trying to possess Andy’s body so he can be human again. This time around, however, Chucky finds himself up against an even bigger threat: The toy manufacturer who created him in the first place. After being reassembled and reprogrammed by them, Chucky goes on another killing spree as he attempts to get revenge on those who wronged him in his past life.

As with the first film, Child’s Play 2 features some iconic scenes and quotes that have become staples of the franchise over the years. It also features some great performances from its cast, including Brad Dourif as Chucky himself. Despite being a sequel to an already popular movie, Child’s Play 2 managed to stand on its own two feet and continue what made its predecessor so great without feeling like a retread of old material.

Child’s Play 3 (1991)
The third installment in the series sees Andy Barclay all grown up and attending military school. At the same time, Chucky continues his mission of transferring his soul into Andy’s body so that he can be human again. This time around, though, he has competition from another Good Guy doll called “Tiffany,” who is bent on helping him achieve this goal and eliminating anyone who stands in their way.

This entry in the series is notable for being more of a traditional slasher than its predecessors were; instead of focusing on psychological horror elements like Child’s Play 1 & 2, it focused more heavily on action set pieces and suspenseful moments involving our two killer dolls going head-to-head against each other. At the same time, they both try to reach their ultimate goal of possessing Andy’s body once again. While this entry may not be considered one of the best in terms of quality, it still managed to deliver some memorable moments that helped define what makes these movies so much fun to watch even today.

Bride Of Chucky (1998)
Going back to its horror roots after having taken a detour with Child’s Play 3, Bride Of Chucky brings us back into familiar territory but with an added twist: Tiffany has been resurrected along with her husband-to-be, and both are now looking for ways to become human again despite having been separated from their original bodies years ago when they were destroyed at the end of Child’s Play 3. Despite Tiffany having different intentions than her serial killer husband, she finds herself teaming up with him anyway for them both to achieve their goal once finally, and for all…or die trying!

This fourth installment brings back all of our favorite characters from previous entries, such as Detective Mike Norris, played by Chris Sarandon. Still, now we get introduced to new characters, such as Jade, played by Katherine Heigl, which adds an interesting new dynamic between our two killer dolls while also giving us plenty of over-the-top kills courtesy of special effects wizard Tony Gardner! Bride Of Chucky also marked a major turning point for the franchise, having shifted away from slasher territory towards comedy/horror, which would remain until Seed Of Chucky was released six years later in 2004.

Seed Of Chucky (2004)
Following its shift towards comedy/horror with Bride Of Chucky, Seed Of Chucky continued down this path while also introducing new characters such as Glen/Glenda – an offspring created by Tiffany using her own blood – which further expanded upon our beloved killer dolls’ mythology. With Glen/Glenda looking for acceptance from their parents, they find themselves caught between wanting acceptance from them and wanting revenge against those responsible for killing them years ago. This creates an interesting dynamic between our two main characters, making this entry stand out among its predecessors.

The movie also features some great performances from its cast, including Brad Dourif as Chucky and Jennifer Tilly as Tiffany, who both deliver some of their best work in the franchise. With its over-the-top kills and outrageous humor, Seed Of Chucky manages to be one of the most entertaining entries in the entire series. It even goes so far as to poke fun at itself and its history with a hilarious celebrity cameo that will surely surprise any long-time fan of the franchise.

Curse Of Chucky (2013)
Returning to its horror roots after nine years of absence, Curse Of Chucky was a much-needed breath of fresh air for long-time fans of the franchise. This sixth installment follows Nica Pierce, played by Fiona Dourif, as she attempts to unravel the mystery behind a mysterious package that contains a Good Guy doll that looks eerily similar to our old friend Chucky. As it turns out, it is indeed our old friend, and he’s back for revenge against those responsible for his demise years ago…or at least that’s what it seems.

This entry takes a much more psychological approach than its predecessors; instead of relying on over-the-top kills and comedy like in previous installments, it focuses more heavily on suspenseful moments and eerie atmospheres that help build up tension throughout the movie until we finally get an answer about who or what is behind all this madness. The movie also features some great performances from its cast, with Brad Dourif returning once again as Chucky himself – something fans had been hoping for since Seed Of Chucky was released in 2004.

Cult Of Chucky (2017)
The seventh installment in the series sees Chucky returning with a new mission: To spread his evil ways worldwide by creating an army of killer dolls like himself. To do this, he must first possess Nica Pierce’s body; however, things don’t go exactly as planned when a mysterious therapist shows up at her hospital with her own set of plans involving our favorite Good Guy doll.

Cult Of Chucky manages to deliver all sorts of surprises while still remaining true to what made this franchise so great in the first place: It features plenty of over-the-top kills courtesy of special effects master Tony Gardner; it has some great performances from its cast, including returning stars Brad Dourif and Fiona Dourif; and it’s all set against an eerie atmosphere that helps build up tension until we finally get an answer about who or what is behind all this chaos! It also marks another major turning point for the franchise by introducing us to new characters such as Alice and Mary Shaw – two characters who would become fan favorites among horror aficionados everywhere!

Child’s Play (2019)
The latest installment in the series sees Andy Barclay all grown up once again, but this time facing off against an even bigger threat: A high-tech version of our beloved serial killer doll known simply as “Buddi”. This time around, however, there are no humans involved – only robots – making for some pretty intense scenes involving our two robotic foes going head-to-head against each other! The movie also features some fantastic performances from its cast, including Mark Hamill voicing Buddi himself; Aubrey Plaza playing Andy’s mom Karen Barclay; and Brian Tyree Henry portraying Detective Mike Norris once again after having appeared in Child’s Play 2 nearly thirty years prior!

Child’s Play 2019 marks yet another major turning point for the franchise by shifting away from slasher horror towards sci-fi/horror territory while still managing to remain faithful to what made these movies so beloved over the years: Its iconic characters, tense atmospheres, over-the-top kills courtesy of special effects wizard Tony Gardner; and most importantly…its fantastic performances from both newcomers and veterans alike! Despite being only nine films deep into a decades-long franchise, Child’s Play 2019 proves that it is still plenty more left for us fans to look forward to!
