SOS – Danskere i nød Synopsis
SOS – Danskere i nød is a 2026 Danish documentary television series produced by Monday Media. The eight-part series follows SOS International, a rescue and travel assistance organisation that helps Danish travellers return home after suffering serious illnesses or injuries abroad.
The documentary follows doctors, nurses, emergency assistance coordinators and rescue teams as they arrange medical treatment, emergency transportation and safe journeys back to Denmark. Each case begins with a call to SOS International’s emergency assistance centre and follows the efforts to bring the patient home.
Among the people featured is Hans, a golf tourist who becomes seriously ill in Mallorca and needs to be transported home by air ambulance. Another case follows 29-year-old Emil, who falls near a hotel swimming pool in Greece and fears he has suffered a paralysing injury.
The series also follows Viktor, who is injured in a skiing accident in Italy and requires helicopter assistance. Other cases take place in Thailand, India and Austria, where Danish travellers experience medical emergencies, accidents and unexpected hospital stays.
