The Pandemic Prophet, also known as Professeur Raoult vs le gang des Cerises, is a 2026 French documentary series created by Caroline Benarrosh. Set during the COVID-19 pandemic, the series follows six ordinary citizens who begin investigating Professor Didier Raoult after he promotes hydroxychloroquine as a treatment for COVID-19.
The story begins in Marseille in 2020, as Raoult becomes one of France’s most prominent public figures during the early months of the pandemic. A group of teachers, researchers and caregivers come together online under the name The Cherry Scooters and begin examining his claims, leading them into a wider investigation involving misinformation, online harassment and legal disputes. Their investigation becomes more personal when they discover that Magali, one of the group’s members, is Raoult’s daughter.
