If you’re a horror fan and you haven’t heard of Shudder, then you should probably be taking notes. A subscription service much like Netflix, Shudder boasts a collection of hundreds of classic, indie, old school, and blockbuster horror films. Not only that, but the site has also begun producing its own original content, and is home to some experimental horror series. This can only lead to good things. (Or really terrible things, depending on how you look at it.)

If you just can’t wait for Halloween to get your horror movie fix, check out these awesome movies you can stream today on Shudder.

Z for Zachariah

Set in a post-apocalyptic landscape, Z for Zachariah is the type of quiet thriller that gets under your skin with its revelations about human nature and the way we can turn on each other when we live in a paranoid world.

I Saw the Devil

Not since The Last House on the Left have we seen such a terrifying revenge fantasy on our screens.

Compliance

Harkening back to very terrifying, very real, psychological studies like the Stanford Prison Experiment and The Milgram Experiment, Compliance is horrifying in ways that ring all-too-true.

Monsters

Mexico has been overrun with alien creatures and a quarantine is in place. A young journalist is escorting his boss’s daughter through an infected zone and toward the United States. Monsters expertly uses the technique of withholding to terrify the audience.

Magic Magic

In Magic Magic, Michael Cera turns his likable goofball persona into something far darker.

We Need to Talk About Kevin

Quiet and unnerving, Kevin is a film of a completely different caliber. Parents Franklin and Ava can’t seem to bond with their son, and as he grows older, the boy’s sociopathic tendencies become more and more pronounced. This film stars Tilda Swinton, John C. Reilly, and Ezra Miller.

The Honeymoon

Rose Leslie and Harry Treadaway star as honeymooners celebrating their nuptials at an isolated family cabin.

Tucker and Dale vs. Evil

Here’s your -ish. To help you recover from all the gore and gloom, I bring you Tucker and Dale vs. Evil. This film starring Alan Tudyk and Tyler Labine turns that old “hillbillies are trying to kill us” trope on its head in the most hilarious way possible.
