Does anyone ever really need a reason to celebrate Keanu Reeves? The answer is never, you never need a reason! But we happen to have several anyway. In case you didn’t notice, Keanu’s got a movie coming out this weekend (Replicas, watch the trailer here) and we are beyond thrilled.

For those of you firmly with Camp Keanu, here are a few of our favorite performances from Mr. Reeves.

John Wick
Type: Action & Adventure, Thriller, Mystery, Crime
Release Date: 2014
Director: Chad Stahelski & David Leitch
Starring: Keanu Reeves, Michael Nyqvist, Willem Dafoe
Rating: 87% RT, 7.3/10 IMDb

In this classic revenge-flick, Keanu really pulls out all the stops in his performance as ex-hitman-done-wrong, John Wick. This may very well be his “-iest” of roles yet. (As in sexiest, angriest, flashiest, etc.) Not only did they bring this character back for a satisfying round two, but they’re also currently gearing up for the third installment. And in case you didn’t get the memo, none of us are complaining.

Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure
Type: Comedy, Action & Adventure, Science Fiction
Release Date: 1989
Director: Stephen Herek
Starring: Keanu Reeves, Alex Winter, George Carlin
Rating: 78% RT, 6.9/10 IMDb

Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure really is just the ridiculous story of two dopey teenagers on a time-traveling mission to write the best history report ever—and who isn’t here for that? Plus in case you haven’t heard, Keanu is teaming up with Bill & Ted alum Alex Winter to bring the characters back to our screens, so… Get. Pumped!

Destination Wedding
Type: Drama, Romance, Comedy
Release Date: 2018
Director: Victor Levin
Starring: Keanu Reeves, Winona Ryder, DJ Dallenbach
Rating: 46% RT, 6/10 IMDb

While not a resounding critical success, Destination Wedding did do all of us a solid by reuniting Keanu with his Dracula co-star (and wife??) Winona Ryder, and the results were somewhat predictable but utterly watchable and just downright adorable.

Speed
Type: Action & Adventure, Thriller, Mystery, Crime
Release Date: 1994
Director: Jan de Bont
Starring: Keanu Reeves, Dennis Hopper, Sandra Bullock
Rating: 93% RT, 7.2/10 IMDb

While Keanu may have been on a lot of people’s radars before he co-starred along with Sandra Bullock in 1994’s hit action flick Speed, this is the project that really sent him to the top of the list. Heroic, buff, and witty—Keanu’s character Jack was a hit with audiences across the board.

My Own Private Idaho
Type: Drama, Romance, LGBTQ, Action & Adventure
Release Date: 1991
Director: Gus Van Sant
Starring: Keanu Reeves, River Phoenix, James Russo
Rating: 81%, 7.1/10 IMDb

As far as offbeat indies go, this 1991 Gus Van Sant picture ranks pretty high. While it may not be the most accessible piece, this early work gives us an opportunity to see another side of Reeves, which is something that we can all appreciate.

Something’s Gotta Give
Type: Drama, Romance, Comedy
Release Date: 2003
Director: Nancy Meyers
Starring: Keanu Reeves, Jack Nicholson, Diane Keaton
Rating: 44% RT, 6.4/10 IMDb

While Keanu’s Dr. Mercer took a bit of a back seat to Jack Nicholson’s Harry Sanborn, watching him flirt shamelessly with Diane Keaton is a real treat.

To the Bone
Type: Drama, Romance, Comedy, Drama
Release Date: 2017
Director: Marti Noxon
Starring: Keanu Reeves, Lily Collins, Alex Sharp
Rating: 73% RT, 7/10 IMDb

This dramedy about a young woman suffering from an eating disorder is probably my favorite film on this list, and that’s saying a lot. This heartwarming Netflix original arrived on the platform with little fanfare, but there’s so so much to love about it!

Bram Stoker’s Dracula
Type: Horror, Fantasy, Romance, Science Fiction
Release Date: 1992
Director: Francis Ford Coppola
Starring: Gary Oldman, Winona Ryder, Keanu Reeves
Rating: 72% RT, 7.5/10 IMDb

Here, Keanu plays Jonathan Harker, a captive of Dracula’s. You can watch Bram Stoker’s Dracula for free on Sony Crackle.

The Replacements
Type: Comedy, Action & Adventure, Sport
Release Date: 2000
Director: Howard Deutch
Starring: Keanu Reeves, Gene Hackman, Brook Langton
Rating: 41% RT, 6.5/10 IMDb

The story here is that of a struggling football coach who puts together a group of has-beens in order to bring his team closer to the playoffs during a players’ strike. Keanu’s role as Shane Falco in this endearing sports comedy is the very picture of a good time, and there’s just nothing wrong with that.

Point Break
Type: Action & Adventure, Thriller, Mystery, Crime
Release Date: 1991
Director: Kathryn Bigelow
Starring: Keanu Reeves, Patrick Swayze, Gary Busey
Rating: 68% RT, 7.2/10 IMDb

Did we save the best for last? That’s debatable, but watching Patrick Swayze and Keanu star in this crime thriller about laid back surfing bank robbers and the undercover cop that is sent to infiltrate their ranks is not a bad way to spend an afternoon. One thing is for sure, Point Break is really the one that started it all.
