10 Movies Starring Your Game of Thrones Favorites

Warner Bros. Pictures

The long winter is upon us, and that can only mean one thing — there’s no new Game of Thrones episodes to watch. In fact, there won’t be any new episodes until 2019. This truly is the darkest timeline. However, all hope is not lost. Thankfully, the cast members have all had busy careers resulting in lots of movies starring your Game of Thrones favorites. These are 10 of the best ones for people looking to get their Daenerys, Arya, or Jon Snow fix.

1. Me Before You

Emilia Clarke took a break from being the Mother of Dragons to take on the role of the quirky and optimistic Lou who falls for the man she’s meant to be taking care of.

2. Small Crimes

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau takes on a role that’s not too dissimilar from Jaime Lannister. In Small Crimes, Coster-Waldau plays yet another bad man flirting with redemption.

3. The Station Agent

This charming comedy was one of the first to show Peter Dinklage’s full range as an actor. His character is no Tyrion Lannister, but he’s a definitely someone you need to meet.

4. The Falling

An all-girls school is the setting for The Falling, a film about innocence lost starring none other than Maisie Williams. It’s fascinating to see Williams step outside of Arya’s shadow to create a character that is so different from the young assassin she’s famous for playing.

5. Brimstone

Jon Snow heads out west in Brimstone, a film that finds Kit Harington taking on yet another brooding soul. (As a bonus, this movie also stars Carice van Houten.)

6. Pride And Prejudice And Zombies

Lena Headey takes a break from dealing with white walkers to deal with… well, more zombies in this unusual take on the Jane Austen classic.

7. X-Men: Apocalypse

Sophie Turner will soon be taking center stage in The Dark Phoenix, but for now, watch her prep for the powerful arc as a young Jean Grey heads into major battle.

8. Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Brienne of Tarth is a hard role to top, but Gwendoline Christie is undeniably awesome as the fierce Captain Phasma.

9. The Fate Of The Furious

The most recent installment of the Fast and Furious franchise includes Kristofer Hivju and Nathalie Emmanuel. It’s basically Westeros with really fast cars.

10. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2

Not only does Natalie Dormer play a pivotal role in the final chapter of The Hunger Games, so does her Game of Thrones co-star, Christie.

These movies starring your Game of Thrones favorites will help keep you warm while you wait for winter to end so that season eight can finally arrive.
